Who we are

Beautique Beauty Bar is a beauty bar located at 671 boulevard Curé-Labelle, Laval (Chomedey), Québec H7V 2T8. Lisa Giustiniani, the owner, is responsible for the protection of personal information at Beautique, in accordance with Québec's Act respecting the protection of personal information in the private sector, as amended by the law commonly known as Law 25.

This policy applies to beautiquemtl.com, in both English and French. Our social media pages and Google's services have their own privacy policies. This policy applies only to this website.

What this site collects

The site has no form. To book, you call us or write to info@beautiquemtl.com from your own email app. We receive only what you choose to send, usually your name, your phone number, the service you are interested in and a time that suits you.

Like most websites, ours is hosted on servers managed by a hosting provider. The provider automatically records certain technical information, such as your IP address, the date and time of your visit and the pages viewed, to keep the website running securely.

The same provider counts visits and measures how fast our pages load. It sets no cookies and does not identify you. We see only totals: how many visits a page gets, the country or region, the type of device and browser, and the site a visitor came from. The link between the pages viewed during one visit is erased after 24 hours.

What we do not do: we do not set cookies, build a profile of you or use advertising trackers. Even the fonts are served directly from our own website rather than from a third party.

The Google map

On the home page, under "Find us in Laval", the map does not load on its own. It appears only if you click the "Load the map" button. Before you click, nothing is sent to Google.

Once the map is loaded, Google's privacy policy applies to the information Google collects. If you would rather not load the map, our address and directions are shown beside it.

Why we use it

We use the information you send us to respond to your request and help arrange your appointment. We may call or email you to confirm the service and a time that works for you.

We do not sell or rent your personal information. We do not send you marketing messages unless you have clearly asked to receive them, and you can change your mind at any time.

Who can see it

Lisa and the members of our team who manage appointments may access the information you send us. Access is limited to the people who need it for that purpose.

Our hosting provider may also process technical information as part of operating and securing the website. Its servers may be located outside Québec. Where required, we apply the safeguards provided for under Québec law.

The provider of our info@beautiquemtl.com mailbox receives the emails you send us. Its servers may also be located outside Québec, with the appropriate safeguards in place.

How long we keep it

An email requesting an appointment is deleted after 12 months. If you become a client and we create a client file for you, your contact information may remain in that file for as long as you remain a client.

You can also ask us to delete your information sooner. An email or a phone call is all it takes.

Your rights

You can ask what personal information we have about you, request a correction, withdraw your consent or ask us to delete your information. Write to info@beautiquemtl.com or call (450) 682-3636 with your name and what you would like us to do. We will respond in writing, at no charge.

If you are not satisfied with our response, you can file a complaint with the Commission d'accès à l'information du Québec, the organization responsible for overseeing Québec's privacy laws.

Security

The site is served over an encrypted connection. Your emails are kept in a password-protected mailbox that can be accessed only by the people who need them to manage appointments.

If an incident affecting your personal information created a risk of serious harm, we would notify you and the Commission d'accès à l'information as required by law.

We need only your name and a way to reach you. Please do not send health details by email. A health condition, pregnancy or medication is best mentioned during your consultation at the salon, before a laser treatment or peel.

Changes to this policy

If we change how we handle personal information, we will update this policy and the effective date shown at the top of the page, and post a notice on the site before the change takes effect.
